The renowned founder of Sulabh International named Bindeshwar Pathak is no more. The official Twitter account of the non-profit organization announced the passing of the amazing businessman. According to the reports, his age was 80 years old at the time of his death.
He was an amazing leader who dedicated his entire life to improving the vision of people and empowering marginalized communities. On 15 August 2023 (Tuesday), he breathed his last at AIIMS Delhi because of cardiac arrest. His death is a profound loss for the nation because he did amazing work for the welfare of society and human rights.
Bindeshwar Pathak Visionary’s Journey
Bindeshwar Pathak’s hometown is Rampur Baghel village of district Vaishali, Bihar, where he was born and raised. He was able to uplift his state with his immense work for society for a long time. Later, his life took an amazing turn when he chose to become a volunteer for the Gandhi Centenary Committee. This helped him in changing the lives of millions of people associated with him.

After the death news of Bindeshwar Pathak began making rounds on the internet, it stunned a lot of people. On the morning of 15 August 2023, he hoisted the national flag at Sulabh International’s central office in Delhi on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day. Afterward, because of some issues, his health deteriorated, and was rushed to the AIIMS-Delhi for treatment.
Later on, he was pronounced dead by the officials because of a heart attack. However, on the auspicious day of Independence, the nation mourns the loss of the visionary leader, who has worked a lot for the development.
Sulabh International’s Trailblazing Work
Bindeshwar Pathak became the founder of a non-profit organization named Sulabh International Social Service Organization in 1970, which is amalgamating technical innovation with humanitarian principles. The main objective of the organization is to help people in claiming and earning their human rights, non-conventional energy sources, social reforms through education, environmental sanitation, waste management, and much more. As time passed, a lot of people began joining the organization as volunteers and did amazing work for society and the landscapes.

One amazing development of the organization is ‘Sulabh Shauchalaya’. It has created hygienic public toilets in several places. Moreover, it has also created amazing relationships with several nations including France, CEEIC, the British Council, a German organization, a Dutch firm, the Commission of the European Union, Belgium, and much more. In October 2007, they designed a toilet system that converted human waste into fertilizers and biogas. It also won the 2009 Stockholm Water Prize because of its amazing contribution to the nation and the people.
